The Gauntlet Interviews Piggy D

From The Gauntlets Website: http://www.thegauntlet.com/interviews/338/Zombie-Rob.html

Shauna O'Donnell from The Gauntlet recently caught up with Piggy D in San Bernando as this years Rockstar Mayhem Festival kicked off.

SHAUNA O'DONNELL: HEY PIGGY, WHAT'S UP?
Piggy D: Hey! How are you?

SHAUNA O'DONNELL: I'M DOING PRETTY GOOD. HOW ARE YOU?
Piggy D: I'm doing good, it's good to be here.

SHAUNA O'DONNELL: ARE YOU PRETTY STOKED TO BE CO-HEADLINING MAYHEM THIS YEAR?
Piggy D: Yeah, it's going to be a blast. We got a huge, huge show.

SHAUNA O'DONNELL: DO YOU ANTICIPATE THE CROWDS TO BE INSANE?
Piggy D: I hope so, California is always a little weird, so this will be a good gauge. If tonight is good, we know it will be good.

SHAUNA O'DONNELL: HOW DID THE GRUESOME TWOSOME TOUR GO?
Piggy D: It was amazing. It was the most fun we've ever had on a tour. We had Joey (Jordison) playing drums with us, it was his first tour with us. Just having Alice and Rob in the same room every night was amazing.

SHAUNA O'DONNELL: YOUR LATEST CD HELLBILLY DELUXE II IS OUT. WHY WAS THERE SUCH A LONG TIME SPAN BETWEEN IT AND ITS PREDECESSOR?
Piggy D: I think Rob just really wanted to experiment with different things. Hellbilly Deluxe II is way different from the first one just because that record was really made as a band, which is the first time that he has ever really done that. We all came in everyday, threw riffs on the table, wrote the songs that day and recorded them that day. It was a very organic process and I think that's probably why it too so long. We had to get to that point where we were that tight as a band that we could pull that off. On this album we all wrote together. John being the guitar player obviously writes most of the riffs. It is ever evolving.

SplatterTribeTV Interviews Piggy D

From Splattertrivetv's website: http://www.splattertribe.tv/PiggyD.htm

SplatterTribe LIVE!@#%$!.
Rob Zombie Band-Piggy D
-July 01, 2010-

Piggy D has recorded on his own, played guitar for Wednesday 13 and played in the band Amen, but now he spends his time acting out a real life Zombie movie, on a nightly basis, in front thousands of people. I mean, does it get any cooler than that? Why does he act out a Zombie movie every night? Well, because since 2006, Piggy D had been the bass player for multi-platinum recording artist and movie director Rob Zombie while touring the world as a member of the 4-man Zombie-Death & Dance-Crew known as The Rob Zombie Band. Piggy also spends his down time working on art and graphic designs, taking photo's, directing video's and running a small, devious little country in hidden land very, very far away... Well, he doesn't exactly run a country, in a hidden land far, far away (not that I am aware of, at least) but he does do all of the other things listed above and he has done them for the likes of Shock-Rock's Godfather and legend Alice Cooper.

I met Piggy D at this years Rock On The Range in Columbus, Ohio- a little before his Zombie transformation that would take place later in that very day- and we sat down and had a conversation about some of history and his current projects. Little did he know at that exact moment of time though, that he had altered the course of history forever, because for now and forever more, the whole Zombie family is Officially SPLATTERED!

New Piggy D Interview

From Muen Magazine: muenmagazine.net/2010/06/piggy-d-interview-done-at-rock-on-the-range-2010/

Muen Magazine.com recently caught up with Piggy D at the Rock on the Range Festival. Read the full interview on their website but enjoy the excerpt here:

MsBrandyRock: How did you get your stage name?

Piggy D: The first touring band I was in, in Texas, I was 16 years old. The band was called Spunk. All the guys in the band were 8 to 10 years older than me and their slogan that was painted on the side of their kick drum said 'Burly Pig Rock'. Since I was the youngest guy in the band they would haze me, kinda like fraternity initiations. When I would fall asleep in the van, they would write with permanent maker 'the burly piglet' on my chest, draw a pig, cut my hair, all kinds of horrible things. And it just stuck they called me Piglet. And it stuck through every band I was in. And I knew a hundred Matt's so it was just easier, 'oh this Piglet guy'.

MsBrandyRock: So you decided to go with Piggy instead of Piglet?

Piggy D: Yeah, it would insinuate that not only am I very small but I'm also very young, which I'm not anymore.

MsBrandyRock: Have you ever heard of the local band Noise Auction? They played early today and one of the guys, he's really short and he goes by Shorty.

Piggy D: Yeah that wouldn't make sense if he was tall.

MsBrandyRock: They are going on a cruise with the Genitorturers.

Piggy D: Oh cool!

MsBrandyRock: How did you cross paths with Rob Zombie?

Piggy D: I met him as a fan years ago, when I was a kid, several times. But I met him through some mutual friends. His old bass player and I got to be friends and actually did some writing together for Rob, 3 years prior to me being in the band. His bass player called me up one day; I'm actually a guitar player. He was like 'hey I'm gonna join Ozzy's band, do you want to take over for me?' And I'm like well I'm not a bass player.

MsBrandyRock: Blasko right?

Piggy D: Yeah, and he was like you can do it. He asked if I could be there tomorrow. I was in Boston at the time making a record. I flew out to LA and two weeks later I did David Letterman with Rob and that was it. That was 4 and a half years ago.
