Biography

From Fender Artist: Piggy D

In the past 15 years, across ten countries, hundreds of thousands have witnessed the relentless passion on stage that is Piggy D. From the knife-fight of a stage show that was Amen (2002-2004), to the shocking and eye-catching Wednesday 13 (2004-2006) and his subsequent work with Rob Zombie, Piggy has owned his corner of the stage as a Fender-wielding guitarist and a bassist since age 15 in his native Texas.

With the summer 2007 release of debut solo album The Evacuation Plan, Matt “Piggy D” Montgomery took the reins as frontman, musician and sole songwriter for the first time. His hard rock opus documented the break-up of bands, love relationships and the daunting task of starting over after losing it all—he wrote 35 songs for the album while living in exile from his New Orleans home in the devastating wake of 2005’s hurricane Katrina. He dove headfirst into the experience by taking the lyrics from journals kept through the years; the resulting album was a compelling collection of brutally honest rock songs and unexpected epic ballads.

In his off time, Piggy D runs a company called Black Victory. Black Victory produces custom rock ‘n’ roll clothing, album design/packaging/photography and videos. In 2007, Piggy D made his directorial debut with the first instructional video by fellow Rob Zombie bandmate John 5.
